Overview
The oscillating knife cutter uses a rapidly vibrating blade instead of a laser, which is the right tool for flexible and composite materials that would melt, char or burn under a beam. It handles foam, leather, fabric, carpet, rubber and glass-fibre mat.
Motion comes from Taiwan square rails with Delta servo motors and a Ruida controller. An aluminium bellows vacuum table pulls the material flat and holds it during the cut, which is what allows accurate work on soft or loosely woven stock.
